Benzalkonium Chloride is a quaternary ammonium compound known for rapid germicidal action — it works as a bactericide, virucide, algaecide and fungicide. In pond application, BKC is diluted with pond water and spread evenly during daytime, with paddlewheel aerators run afterward for uniform distribution. It helps control bacterial, fungal, algal and protozoan issues — including Zoothamnium — while de-odourizing and purifying pond water. UNI AQUA BKC 80's recommended dose is 500ml-1 litre per acre; it is also used to support faster, safer molting in shrimp and prawns when applied as directed, and can form part of a hygiene programme for gill disease management.
